Montclair pulled off a gritty 54-51 win over Irvington on Tuesday night, overcoming an early deficit with strong defense and balanced team play. Jahi Whitney led the charge with 21 points, while Martin Quiros dominated the glass with 11 rebounds, helping Montclair control the tempo down the stretch.

Irvington put up a fight behind Jayden Bermudez’s 23-point performance, but Montclair’s ability to crash the boards and move the ball proved to be the difference. Montclair outrebounded Irvington 35-31 and dished out 15 assists compared to just 9 from their opponent. Their defensive effort also shined, forcing tough shots and capitalizing on key possessions.

After trailing early, Montclair found their rhythm in the second half, outscoring Irvington in the final quarter to secure the win. While Bermudez and Jordan Ogbewele (11 rebounds) kept Irvington in contention, Montclair’s depth and composure allowed them to stay in control when it mattered most.
