The Montclair Boys' Volleyball Team used a balanced offensive attack to defeat the visiting Payne Tech Lions yesterday 2-0 and improve to 2-3 overall. (25-18, 25-18) In both sets the Lions kept fighting despite falling behind by as many as 8 points but the Mounties kept them at bay with a diverse offense and a pesky defense.

Mounties Senior Outside Hitter, Benjamin Welsh led the offensive charge with 7 kills. Senior Middle Blockers Patrick Reesch and Nnamdi Emehelu had 4 kills each. Senior Outside Hitter Evan Melanson chipped in 3 kills.

Senior Libero, Logan Martinez and Junior Setter Ryan Yi, anchored the defense with 6 digs each. Senior Middle Blockers Patrick Reesch and Nnamdi Emehelu, Senior Right-Side Zachary Singer and Senior Outside Hitter Benjamin Welsh turned back Lion attacks with 1 block each.

The Mountie netters will face the Livingston Lancers at home on April 10 at 4:00 pm in a crucial American Division match.
