Montclair Boys Basketball Finishes Strong in 2024-25 Season

The Montclair High School boys basketball team had a strong 2024-25 season, finishing with a 16-11 overall record and an 8-2 mark in the Super Essex Conference (SEC) - Colonial Division. Under head coach Cecil Stinson III, the Mounties made great strides, securing big wins and making a solid playoff push. Montclair picked up several statement victories this season. One of their most thrilling wins came on January 21, when they edged out Irvington 61-58 in a hard-fought battle. On February 13, they dominated Millburn 70-47, showing their ability to control games. Another big moment came on February 20, when they took down Roselle 68-54, carrying momentum into the playoffs. In the North 1, Group 4 state tournament, Montclair started strong with a 66-34 first-round win over Union City. However, their postseason run ended in the next round against East Orange, closing out a season filled with growth and promise. With a mix of experienced leaders and rising talent, the Mounties showed they can compete at a high level. Their improved record and strong performances point to a bright future, as they look to build on this momentum next season.
