Montclair put up a strong fight, but Millburn’s firepower proved too much as the Millers secured a 25-22, 25-16 straight-set victory on Tuesday afternoon.
The first set was a tightly contested battle, with Montclair pushing Millburn to the brink before the Millers managed to close it out late, 25-22. Montclair showed resilience but struggled to contain Enzo Zemlickas, who led all players with 9 kills and 2 blocks.
The second set saw Millburn take control, using efficient ball movement led by Ishaan Modi’s 22 assists to pull away. Montclair had flashes of strong play but couldn’t mount a late rally, falling 25-16.
Despite the loss, Montclair showed promising moments, especially in the first set, and will look to bounce back in their next match. Meanwhile, Millburn continues its unbeaten start at 2-0 and will look to carry that momentum forward.
