MONTCLAIR, NJ — April 7, 2025 — Columbia exploded for a five-run fifth inning and never looked back, taking down Montclair 11–7 in a high-scoring affair Monday afternoon.

Led by Jacob Napolitano and Sam Dorian, who each scored twice, Columbia’s offense consistently pressured Montclair’s pitching. The Cougars posted runs in six of the seven innings, totaling 11 hits in the contest. Dyer also contributed a double, while Jack Kelsey and Ben Kaplan each added two RBIs to power Columbia's lineup.

Montclair struck early with three runs in the first inning and briefly held a 5–4 lead after four. But Columbia answered with five in the fifth, capitalizing on Montclair miscues and clutch hits.

Grady Keelan earned the win for Columbia, tossing 4.1 innings and allowing four earned runs while striking out five. On the mound for Montclair, Santiago Alfonzo took the loss despite recording six punchouts over 3.2 innings.

Montclair’s Jayden Santiago and Carter Lewis each crossed the plate twice, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Columbia’s relentless offense.

With the win, Columbia improves to 2–1 on the season, while Montclair drops to 1–3.
