The Montclair High School Boys Hockey Team kicked off their season impressively on Thursday with a resounding victory against Oratory Prep. Demonstrating a dominant performance, the Mounties secured a 6-0 win in their season opener. Throughout the entire game, the Mounties maintained control, with senior Sam Rotella setting the tone by scoring just three minutes into the game, giving them an early 1-0 lead. Rotella continued his offensive prowess, adding another goal before the end of the period, bringing the score to 2-0 as they entered the second period.
In the second period, Rotella continued to lead the charge for the Mounties, netting two more goals and extending the lead to 4-0. The Mounties sustained their momentum in the third period, adding two more goals to seal the victory. The first of these goals came from junior Anders Jenkins, and the second and final goal of the game was notched by Freshman Jaxon Parma. This marked Parma's inaugural varsity goal, capping off a stellar team effort that showcased the Mounties' offensive prowess and cohesive play.
