The Montclair High School Boys Swim Team wrapped up the 2023-24 season with a commendable 7-4 record under the leadership of senior captains Eli Muldoon and Sam Safirstein. Throughout the season, they demonstrated resilience and skill, finishing with a balanced 3-3 record in their Division and an impressive home record of 4-1.

Their journey in the season was marked by victories, ranging from tightly contested battles to decisive triumphs. Notably, they triumphed over Fair Lawn in the opening round of states, showcasing their determination and competitive spirit. However, their quest was halted in the quarter-finals by Morristown, a setback that underscored the challenges and intensity of postseason competition.

Among their memorable victories were standout performances against rival schools, including Verona, Glen Ridge, and cross-town adversaries Mka. These victories, by margins of 89, 103, and 97 respectively, highlighted the team's depth and capability to rise to the occasion when facing familiar opponents.

Guiding this team to success was head coach Ed Koenigsfest, whose leadership and strategic acumen played a pivotal role in shaping the team's performance throughout the season. Despite the departure of Muldoon and Safirstein, the team's future appears promising, with a talented roster poised to step up and continue the legacy of excellence established this season. With a foundation of experience and potential, the Montclair High School Boys Swim Team is well-positioned for continued success in the upcoming seasons.
