This year, the Montclair High School Boys Bowling team had a very successful year, as they finished the regular season with a 12-3 record in divisional play, and a 14-4 overall record. Additionally, they placed second in the Essex County Tournament (ECT) as a team and lost in the Quarterfinal Round of the NJSIAA State Tournament to Livingston by a score of 2-0. Senior Tai Burns led the team, as he has done each of the last 3 years, with a 206.9 game average, which is a 16 point increase from his total last year. Next year, Montclair will be losing multiple key contributors in seniors Tai Burns, Jesse Blau, Adam Kostrzewa, and Max Ashton. However, junior Isaac Archer, who was the second most impactful player statistically, will have another year of experience under his belt and Montclair will try to ride his coattails en route to another successful season next year. Although bowlers like 2x ECT Champion Tai Burns don’t grow on trees, if Archer can show the same level of improvement that he showed this year (jump from 125.5 game average last year to 175.77 this year), then Montclair will be just fine.
