The Montclair High School Varsity Girls Bowling team finished the season with a 4-9 record in divisional play and a 5-12 record overall, and suffered a First Round exit from the NJSIAA State Tournament by a score of 2-1 at the hands of Paterson Kennedy High School. Montclair was a very youthful team that consisted of 5 freshmen, 1 sophomore, and 1 junior, with that junior being AOTY winner Brooklyn Awad. Awad led the girls with a 136.27 game average which was 23 points higher than the next highest average on the team. The team experienced some regression record-wise when compared to their 8-4-1 record last year, but this regression is to be expected when 4 of their top 5 bowlers last year were seniors. This young team will certainly see big improvements next year under Coach Totaro as they aim for a high finish in the county and state tournaments.
