As the Winter season for the Montclair High School Boys Indoor Track and Field comes to a close, one athlete stands out above the rest; senior Sean Overton. He has been chosen as MSN’s Athlete of the Year for Boys Track with outstanding times like a 2:00.35 in the 800-meter event and a 4:32.44 in the mile. These times meant that Sean was a key contributor to the team’s success as he racked up most of his team's points by coming in the top five in his events. Sean had this to say about helping young athletes aspiring to succeed in their field, “What worked that helped me get better was to be competitive and hold myself to the standard around me. When I started track I wanted to be at the same level as the upperclassmen but I knew there was a gap in age and experience but it didn't matter to me, I used their skill to help me push myself.” Sean has had an incredible Track and Field career thus far at Montclair High School, but he is not done yet, as he’ll look to keep up his dominance again this spring for the team and end his career on a high note.
