The Montclair Boys Varsity Lacrosse team beat Kinnelon 14-10 on Saturday, senior day for the Mounties. This win improved Montclair’s record to 2-3, while delivering Kinnelon their first loss of the season.
In the first quarter, Montclair and Kinnelon stayed even at three goals apiece, while in the second quarter, Kinnelon pushed into the lead with four goals to Montclair’s two. After another losing quarter in the third, Montclair regrouped and shot into the lead with five goals to Kinnelon’s one goal in the final quarter.
Some strong performances from Montclair include Junior George Brashares, who scored two goals and had an assist, Senior Simon Miklazewski, who had three goals, Senior Drew Pfeifer, who had three goals and an assist, Senior Evan Schmitt and Sophomore Dylan Fowler who each had two goals to pair with two assists, and Senior Captain Jayden Truesdale, who had two goals.
On Monday, the Mounties travel to Maplewood to take on Columbia, while Kinnelon hosts Parsippany Hills.
