The first quarter was a tightly contested battle, ending in a 14-14 tie. Columbia edged ahead in the second quarter, outscoring Montclair 20-18 to take a slim lead into halftime.
However, the third quarter was a game-changer. Montclair came out of the locker room on fire, going on a scoring spree and outscoring Columbia 24-9, breaking the game wide open. The Mounties kept their foot on the gas in the fourth quarter, sealing the win with strong defense and efficient offense.
La’Mear Singletary led Montclair with an impressive 22 points, adding 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Grayson Roper contributed significantly with 13 points, providing a key offensive spark. Martin Quiros added 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals to round out Montclair’s balanced attack.
For Columbia, Jerry Browne led with 8 points and 8 rebounds, but their offense struggled to keep pace with Montclair’s dominant second half.
