In a hard-fought battle Wednesday night, Montclair Ice Hockey came up just short, falling 2-1 to Verona-Glen Ridge at Clary Anderson Arena.
After a scoreless first period, VGR broke the scoring drought in the second, taking a 1-0 lead heading into the final frame. The Mounties responded in the third, as senior Logan Brown tied the game with a goal at the 13-minute mark, bringing hope to the Montclair bench.
But Verona-Glen Ridge answered late, regaining the lead and holding on for the win. With the loss, The Mounties drop to 6-7, and look to build on their competitive play when they face Clifton on the road on Friday.
