The Montclair Mounties (11-9) avenged an earlier loss in emphatic fashion Tuesday evening, dismantling conference rival Bloomfield (11-9) on the road, 59-41.

From the opening tip, Montclair set the tone with suffocating defense and efficient scoring, never trailing in the contest. Martin Quiros led the way with 12 points and 11 rebounds, anchoring the Mounties on both ends of the floor. Grayson Roper caught fire from beyond the arc, drilling four three-pointers to finish with 12 points, while Myles Nicholson matched him with 12 points of his own.

Montclair’s balanced attack overwhelmed Bloomfield, with six different players contributing at least six points. La’Mear Singletary was a force all over the court, tallying seven points, four rebounds, and three assists, while Mason Determann added six points and four rebounds. The Mounties also controlled the boards, out-rebounding Bloomfield 33-18.

For Bloomfield, it was a rough night offensively. Sean Perrotta tried to keep the Bengals in the game with a team-high 16 points, but he got little support from his teammates. Ryan Brodeck and AJ Cruz chipped in five and 12 points, respectively, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Montclair’s relentless pressure.

After an evenly matched first half, Montclair pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Bloomfield 18-12 before slamming the door shut in the fourth. The Mounties’ defense held Bloomfield to just 10 points in the final frame, sealing a much-needed victory.

With this win, Montclair moves back above .500 and gains momentum heading into the final stretch of the season. Meanwhile, Bloomfield will need to regroup quickly after suffering one of their lowest-scoring performances of the year.

Montclair will look to build on this dominant performance in their next matchup, while Bloomfield hopes to bounce back and avoid slipping further in the standings.
